Why Sisal Fiber is Important for Exporters

Beef Omasum

Sisal fiber is reckoned as one of the natural fiber. Sisal fiber is obtained from a plant called sisal. The plant sisal is known formally as Agave sisalana and is easily cultivated. Sisal plant has the shape which looks like a sword. Sisal fiber exporter needs natural fiber to sell their products overseas.

Sisal fiber is biodegradable. Also, the grain is green composite along with soy protein resin altered with gelatin. Sisal fiber is characterized by its mechanical and thermal characteristics. It is an excellent source of renewable energy together with outstanding durability, low maintenance alongside minimum wear and tear. Sisal fiber is quite stiff for fabrics and textiles. Therefore, it is unsuitable for a smooth wall finish. Therefore, sisal fiber is not recommended for wet places.

_Different Uses of Sisal Fiber

Historically, sisal has always been the top and exquisite stuff for agricultural twine. Sisal fiber is reliable due to its affinity for many dyestuffs, the capability to stretch, strength, and resistance to deteriorating in saltwater and dependable durability. Further applications are described below:

•    Sisal as a material is used in carpets, mixture with wool and softer hand’s acrylic.

•    Sisal fiber is used in the automobile sector with fiberglass in many composite materials

•    Different products manufactured via sisal include lumbar support belts, cat stretching posts, spa products, rugs, clothes, slippers and disc buffers.

•    Conventionally, sisal was used for baler twine and agricultural twine.

•    In the shipping industry, every sisal fiber exporter utilizes sisal for lashing, mooring ship craft, and handling cargo.

_Fiber Extraction Process

The process for sisal extraction is known as decortication. In decortication, leaves of sisal are crushed, beaten and brushed away using a wheel which rotates with not-so-sharp knives.

There are many places in East Africa where sisal and beef omasum are produced. The leaves of sisal are transported to the decortications’ central plant. To wash away the waste portions of leaves, water is used.

 _Attributes of Sisal Fiber

Sisal’s leaves can be treated with natural borax.

Sisal has absorbing properties.

Sisal fiber is generally available as twill, herringbone and plaid.

Sisal fiber is helpful for recycling purposes.
